A message from Steve, the founder of Matcha Ninja.
Matcha Ninja started in 2014, when my life changed forever when I replaced coffee with matcha. From my energy levels and sleep quality, to my mental clarity, I loved the way matcha made me feel…
But there were some problems with most products on the market.
Year:
Really good matcha (ceremonial grade) takes time. Not everyone has the ability to prepare matcha every morning with hot water at the right temperature and a traditional chasen.
Taste:
Many available matcha varieties have a strong bitterness. They are difficult to consume and often this problem is covered up by adding sugar, flavorings and other preservatives.
So I embarked on a mission: to create the most enjoyable and easy-to-use matcha in the world — without any compromise on quality.
Like tea, Matcha Ninja started in a completely natural way: at local farmers markets in Toronto. We shared our mission and our matcha with our neighborhood, and soon the word started to spread.
Soon, Matcha Ninja was being served in the city's trendiest cafés and was on the shelves of select delicatessens. Today, Matcha Ninja has grown into one of the largest matcha companies in North America.
Matcha Ninja makes consuming quality matcha — and the feeling of well-being that comes with it — easier than ever.
Thank you for meeting us!
Best regards,
Steve

How is Matcha different from regular green tea?
In regular green tea, the leaves are steeped in boiling water and you only consume the resulting extract. This not only loses many of the nutrients contained in the tea leaf, but the boiling process can also destroy important nutrients.
In contrast, with matcha, you consume the entire tea leaf. Matcha is a concentrated form of green tea, and in particular, high-quality matcha (ceremonial grade) contains up to 10 times more nutrients than regular green tea.
Additionally, matcha is made from tencha leaves, which are green tea leaves that have been shade-grown and destemmed. Matcha Ninja’s tencha leaves are grown in the shade for three weeks before being harvested, and during processing, we remove the stems and veins. This process increases the chlorophyll and antioxidant content of the leaf and reduces bitterness, providing the best tasting matcha without the need for any sweetener.
